本作は、狙撃に特化したゲーム性で話題を呼んだFPS『スナイパー ゴーストウォリアー』の続編にあたるタイトル。ターゲットを一撃で仕留める爽快感と、1回のミスが命取りになる緊張感がウリのアクションシューターだ。今作では、新たに“CryEngine3”を導入したことにより、周囲の状況や風が狙撃の精度にまで影響する物理演算システムが搭載されるなど、よりリアルなスナイピングアクションを体感できるようになっている。
