本作は、グラフィックスがHD画質となった『ボーダーランズ2』と『ボーダーランズ プリシークエル』に加え、定価にて1万円以上の全DLCが最初から収録されているもの。クロスセーブに対応しており、PS4版にはPS3/PS Vita版のセーブデータ、Xbox One版にはXbox 360版のセーブデータを引き継げます。さらに、シリーズ初となる最大4人での画面分割Co-opがプレイ可能に。
