人気ACTがめじろ押し！『Xboxワールドコレクション』シリーズに新作3タイトル追加
マイクロソフトは、『Xboxワールドコレクション』シリーズの新作3タイトル『Magic: The Gathering-Battlegrounds』、『Voodoo Vince』、『X2:Wolverine’s Revenge』を、7月22日に発売する。以下にそのぞれのタイトルを紹介していく。
■『Magic: The Gathering-Battlegrounds』
この作品は、多くのファンを持つカードゲーム「Magic:The Gathering」をモチーフにしたアクションゲーム。マナや呪文、クリーチャーといった原作の要素を戦略性豊かなタクティカルACTとして再現している。Xbox Liveを使用した対戦も可能で、ネットワークを介して世界中のプレイヤーとデュエルを楽しめる。
■『Voodoo Vince』
呪い人形“Vince”を操り、誘拐された自分の創造主“マダムシャーメイン”を助け出すアクションゲーム。“Vince”は必殺技「Voodooパワー」を使って、自分のダメージを敵に向けて返すことができる。自らの体を傷つけると、敵に攻撃できるという一風変わったシステムとなっている。
■『X2:Wolverine’s Revenge』
『X2:Wolverine’s Revenge』は、日本でも高い評価を得ているアメリカンコミック「X-MEN」の人気キャラクター“Wolverine（ウルヴァリン）”を主人公にしたA・AVG。敵に正面から立ち向かうか、それとも背後から近づくか、あらゆる選択がプレイヤーにゆだねられている。“Wolverine”役にマーク ハミル氏、“Professor X”役にパトリック スチュワート氏と豪華な俳優陣が声を担当しているのも魅力だ。
今回の新タイトル発売により、『Xboxワールドコレクション』販売タイトルは計19作品になる。いずれもゲーム内のメッセージは英語のままだが、取扱説明書とパッケージは日本語仕様になっているので、海外ゲームに興味がある人はぜひ遊んでみよう。
『Magic: The Gathering-Battlegrounds』には、1人で遊べる「クエストモード」とXbox Liveを使用する「マルチプレイ」が用意されている。
自分がダメージを受けることで、敵に攻撃する『Voodoo Vince』。あるときは金庫の下敷きに、またあるときは巨大フォークに刺されたりと、残酷シーンの連続で敵を倒していく。
『X2:Wolverine’s Revenge』は人気コミック「X-MEN」をゲーム化したA・AVG。アメリカでは映画「X-MEN 2」公開と同時に発売され、好評を博した。
