第1弾発売タイトルは『MYST』最新作！新ゲームブランド「livedoorGAMES」発表会
本日1月18日、都内にてライブドアの新ゲームブランド「livedoor GAMES」の発表会が行われた。
「livedoor GAMES」は、ライブドアが新たに設立したPC用パッケージソフトの販売や流通、ゲームポータルサイトの運営を行うゲームブランド。2005年2月からは月に2タイトル以上のPC用ソフトを販売する他、将来的にはコンシューマゲームを含むさまざまなコンテンツを発売していくという。
「livedoor GAMES」第1弾タイトルとしては、キッズステーションと業務提携を行いPC用ソフト『MYST URU：Complete Chronicles（ミスト ウル：コンプリート クロニクル）』が2月25日に発売、3月25日にはシリーズ最新作『MYST IV：REVELATION（ミスト4 ：リベレーション）』が発売される予定だ。
ライブドア代表取締役社長兼CEOの堀江貴文氏は本日の発表会において、「livedoor GAMES」に関して、「最近のPC用ゲームはオンラインが主流となっています。ですが、『MYST』のように一定のファンを獲得しているタイトルならば、収益を上げることは可能だと思っています。今後「livedoor GAMES」では有名PC用ソフトの販売をはじめ、ゲームポータルサイトの運営などに注力していきます」とコメント。『MYST URU』は3万本、『MYST IV』では5万本の販売をそれぞれの目標にするとのことだ。
「livedoor GAMES」の発表会には堀江氏（写真左）の他、『MYST IV』の“イーシャ”役を務めた声優の花村怜美さん（写真中央）、キッズステーション ゲーム事業部部長の古谷 仁志（写真右）が出席した。
『MYST』シリーズの外伝的なストーリーが展開する『MYST URU』。全16種類の世界を渡り歩き、物語の謎に迫っていく。
最新作『MYST IV』は、好奇心旺盛な少女“イーシャ”を中心に据えた家族の物語。シリーズの特徴ともいえる本格的な謎解きも多数用意されている。
