PS3システムソフトウェアのバージョンアップが明日実施

　SCEは、PS3のシステムソフトウェアのバージョン2.40へのアップデートを、明日7月2日に実施する。

　今回のアップデートでは、PS3規格のソフトのゲームプレイ中にクロスメディアバー（XMB）が表示できるようになる。このXMBを使用すれば、フレンド機能を通したユーザー同士のメッセージ交換など、XMBの機能の一部をゲームプレイ中にも利用可能に。

　上記の他にも、XMB上でのインターネット検索機能、ハードディスクや記録メディアに保存した動画やBlu-ray Discのアップコンバート出力への対応、フレンド登録数の拡張機能などが追加される。アップデートで追加される細かな機能については明日更新されるPlayStation.com内のアップデート情報を参照してほしい。

明日のアップデートにより、一部対応ソフトでトロフィーが集められるようになった。対応ソフトについては後日公開されるとのことだ。
