【App通信】新デバイス・iPad 2がついに発表！ 『化物語』iPhoneカバーも登場

　iPhone/iPod touchやiPadに関連するトピックをお届けするコーナー“App通信”。今週はアップルの新デバイス・iPad 2の発表内容についてお届けする。

　新作アプリは、『マッピー』『FIGHT NIGHT Champion』『アスファルト：Audi RS 3』の3つを紹介。この他、セガのオンラインRPG『Kingdom Conquest』のキャンペーンや、TVアニメ『化物語』のiPhone 4専用ハードケースの情報も紹介する。

●アップル、軽量化や処理速度の高速化を実現したiPad 2を発表

　アップルは米国現地時間3月3日に、新デバイス“iPad 2（アイパッドツー）”を発表した。

　iPad 2は、デュアルコアA5プロセッサを搭載しており、現行のiPadと比べて速い処理能力を実現している一方で、33％薄く最大15％軽いデザインとなっている。バッテリー駆動時間は最長10時間で、9.7インチの液晶ディスプレイと1,024×768の解像度は現行モデルと同じ。前面と背面にカメラを搭載しており、フロントにVGAカメラ、バックカメラはHDビデオ撮影に対応している。

　iPad 2にはWi-FiのみとWi-Fi＋3Gのモデルがあり、それぞれ16GB、32GB、64GBが用意されている。カラーバリエーションは、ブラックとホワイトの2種類。あわせて純正カバーの“iPad 2 Smart Cover”も発売される。なおアップルによると、日本における販売価格は後日発表するとのことだ。
