本作は、地球から遠く離れた辺境の惑星“パンドラ”で生きるハンターとなって、滅亡した文明の遺跡を巡って戦うシューティングゲーム。FPSでありながら、RPGのようなキャラクター育成要素を備えるという、いわゆる“ロールプレイングシューター”となっている。
